I've always believed that buildings are about more than square footage.
The best places don't simply house businesses—they help people create, invent, build, and grow. They become part of a community's story, adapting over decades while quietly supporting the lives and ambitions of the people inside them.
That belief is why I founded Charles + Main.
My career began on construction sites. Long before boardrooms and development strategy, I was pouring concrete, welding steel, framing buildings, and learning from the craftsmen who taught me that quality is earned one detail at a time. Those experiences shaped the way I see real estate today. Every successful project starts with respect—for the land, for the people building it, and for the generations who will eventually use it.
Over the past twenty-five years, I've had the privilege of leading every stage of the development process—from identifying land opportunities and navigating complex entitlements to designing, financing, constructing, leasing, and operating commercial real estate. I've helped deliver more than one million square feet of projects, assembled hundreds of acres for future development, and led investments totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. But I've found that the most meaningful measure of success isn't the size of a project. It's whether the place continues to serve people well years after the ribbon is cut.
My background bridges architecture, business, construction, and sustainability. I earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, and completed graduate studies in sustainable design at the Boston Architectural College. Along the way, I've had the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs, Fortune 500 companies, local governments, investors, engineers, architects, contractors, and community leaders. Each has reinforced the same lesson: the best developments are created through collaboration, curiosity, and trust.

Charles + Main represents everything I've learned throughout that journey.
We believe real estate should be designed for what's next, not just what's needed today. Buildings should be adaptable. Infrastructure should anticipate change. Development should strengthen communities rather than simply occupy them. Great architecture should perform as well as it inspires.
Our work focuses on creating places where innovation can happen—whether that's an entrepreneur launching a new company, a manufacturer expanding production, a researcher developing the next breakthrough, or a growing business finding a permanent home. Every project is approached with the mindset of a long-term owner because lasting value is created by thinking beyond the next lease or the next transaction.
Outside of my professional career, I've spent years volunteering as a search and rescue leader and instructor, helping locate missing people and training new responders. Those experiences have had a profound influence on how I lead. They taught me that preparation matters, decisions have consequences, and leadership is ultimately about serving others.
Those same principles guide Charles + Main.
This company wasn't founded to build the most buildings.
It was founded to build the right ones.
Our Legacy
Places that endure. Places that adapt. Places where people can do their best work.
That's the legacy we're committed to creating.
Our Philosophy
At Charles + Main, we believe great development begins long before a site is acquired or a building is designed.
It begins with asking better questions.
Every project represents an opportunity to create lasting value—for our clients, the businesses that will occupy the space, the surrounding community, and future generations. That requires more than experience alone. It requires curiosity, disciplined analysis, and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
We combine decades of experience in architecture, construction, development, and real estate investment with proprietary AI-powered research and decision-support tools that help us identify opportunities others overlook. These tools allow us to evaluate land, infrastructure, markets, regulations, economics, and design alternatives with greater depth and speed, enabling more thoughtful, better-informed decisions throughout the development process.
Technology doesn't replace experience.
It enhances it.
Our role is to bring together human judgment, creativity, and technical expertise with advanced analytics to reduce uncertainty, uncover efficiencies, and create resilient solutions that stand the test of time.
We also believe buildings should be designed for change.
The pace of innovation continues to accelerate, transforming how people work, manufacture, research, learn, and collaborate. Buildings designed around today's needs often become tomorrow's limitations. We approach every project with adaptability in mind, creating flexible environments capable of evolving alongside emerging technologies, changing industries, and future patterns of work.
Whether that means accommodating advanced manufacturing, robotics, autonomous logistics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy systems, or technologies that have yet to be imagined, we believe architecture should enable innovation—not constrain it.
This philosophy influences every decision we make.
We seek opportunities where others see obstacles.
We value long-term stewardship over short-term gains.
We prioritize thoughtful design over unnecessary complexity.
We embrace technology without losing sight of craftsmanship.
And we measure success not only by what we build today, but by how well those places continue to serve people decades from now.
At Charles + Main, development is more than constructing buildings.
It is the thoughtful creation of places that adapt, endure, and inspire the future.
